Stockholm Visitor Guide

A collection of things to do and see in Stockholm. The headers below contain a selection of places, all places can also be viewed on the corresponding Google Map.

Things to do

Stockholm changes a lot depending on the weather.

If it’s sunny out, bring your swimming trunks and head out to the bars and take a dip after. Go to Systembolaget, grab some beers, some ice from a nearby shop, then head to a park and have a picknick!

If it’s rainy, go to the museums or head to a cafe for a fika!

Mariaberget

Great view of Stockholm, combine with watching the sunset after a walk around Söder.

Brunnsviken

Park in the center of the city, great for swimming with multiple options to choose from.

Rosendals Trädgård

Cute cafe, combine with a walk around Djurgården.

Hellasgården

Can be reached by bus, great for swimming and hikes. Try the sauna and cold swimming during winter!

Archipelago

There are multiple companies which have boats which go to the Stockholm archipelago. Sandhamn, Fjäderholmarna etc.

City Hall

Go to the top of Stockholm city hall. Combine with a walk along Norr Mälarstrand.

Vitabergsparken

Go here on a sunny Friday/Saturday with some beers, then head out to Trädgården after.

Vasa Museum

Recovered sunken ship.

Tyresta National Park

Hiking in nature near Stockholm that’s reachable by train + bus. Deserves a full day.

Kayak

Paddle around Stockholm or out to the archipelago. There’s also KAYAKOMAT.

Restaurants & Bars

Mostly relaxed places and reasonably priced food.

Urban Deli Sveavägen

Nice rooftop bar in the central city.

Hermans

Cheap vegan on Söder.

Mosebacketerasson

Outdoor bar with a view on Söder.

Meno Male

Proper Italian neopolitan pizza for a reasonable price. They have multiple locations in Stockholm.

Palmyra Kebab

Best kebab in Stockholm, a bit off though.

Restaurang AG

Fancier place for steak.

Günters

Simple but really tasty sausage stand. Grab a sausage and go for a walk to Karlbergs Slott.

SNÖ

Gelateria style ice cream in Vasastan. Expect long queues on sunny days, but it’s worth it. They also have a great lunch!

Nightlife

I’m not an expert on Stockholm night life, but these places are a good time. Avoid Stureplan at all costs.

Trädgården

Absolute must-visit club during the summer, best in June.

Slaktkyrkan

More Berlin style club which is outside of the city.

Hornhuset

Good club on Söder, has a rooftop but no open-air style outdoor area unfortunately.
